Writing an eBook can be valuable for many reasons. The first step to answering this question is mapping out the goals you have in content marketing. If you’re a business looking to boost brand awareness, build relationships with potential customers/partners, and generate leads, writing an eBook could be a fantastic solution.
EBooks cover a lot of ground. Most people who create eBooks are working to address popular topics with detailed information. Whether it’s an eBook about history, business practices, recipes, a how-to guide, or anything else, the possibilities for eBook writing are endless.
The most important thing is having a demand for the topic you’ll be covering – and knowing it is something people will want to read.
This depends on several factors. Most importantly, how well you promote it. Most brands that create eBooks use them to generate leads. Promoting your eBook with paid ad campaigns can do a lot to generate results quickly. Depending on your goals, we recommend having a clear promotion strategy in mind before the writing process begins.
Turnaround times are different from project to project. We need to factor in the industry, word count, depth, and current bandwidth of the writer. We normally aim to deliver the content within 3-5 weeks – or less. The timeline involves ideation, building the outline, writing the content, proofreading, and revisions (if applicable). We’ll provide a target deadline for the first draft once the outline is approved. If any unforeseen delays pop up, we’ll let you know.
There are a bunch of factors that play into the word count of an eBook. It depends on how much ground you want to cover, how in-depth you want to go, etc. We recommend eBooks to be no shorter than 2,000 – 2,500 words. We’ve written some in the ballpark of 5,000 – 8,000 words. It all depends on your vision.
